Stopgap Measure
I'm caught in the throes of blogger ennui.
Oh, woe.
On the positive side, I have found something that'll help you bide the time till a more substantive post arrives. Ladies and Gents - 'Kya Surat Hai' by the Bombay Vikings, a song that I found irresistibly funny when it first came out in 1999 or thereabouts.

That is seriously fun. Maybe it's due to the small and fuzzy nature of youtube, but that guy has something decidedly Shahrukhy about him - I think it's the movement, particularly when he bops along in his headphones after the ladki.
Oooooh! I remember when this came out! We were in school! =D
beth: really? SRK-ey? *squints*
hem: way to make me feel old, man. just cause you're younger??? *sniff*
haha... it indeed is a funny music video :)
you know what? that guy in the video is the choreographer raju sundaram, elder brother of the more famous choreographer cum actor, prabhu deva. raju is pretty acclaimed in tamil film industry. he is famous for the beautiful foot-works in his choreography :)
OMFG.
d00d3tt3 ...errr.. grandma Sharon, great find from your halcyon days:).
Now search for your info on your twin, Lola Kutty.
*runs*
btw Don was just decent. Come on msn more often, i'll tell you all about it.
i was at the special premiere and all that (yeah Priyanka Chopra is my gf and all that;):P)
oh my fucking god sharon. you made my day. I remember this song - I was in the ninth grade - and this isn't an attempt to make you feel ancient - there's a story.
So yeah, I was in the ninth grade and had a huge crush on this guy called Uday and I remember sitting in his room that smelt of balms and deodorant - rewinding the cassette over and over again to get the lyrics JUST right. We were very good at it, since I just sang along to the whole fucking song. :D
inder: oh, so that's why there's a prabhu deva poster in the video! :D
h3lios: first you call me aunty, then you call me grandma? you aren't all that younger than me, you know? :P PS - Lola Kutty is apparently a tamil girl from Madras, just so you know. Personally, I've worn a sari only once in my life, and that was yeears ago.
scout: lol, don't worry, I think i was in gr 9 or 10 when this song came out - it's just that so much time has passed *since* then, you know? :-S But anyway, was Uday impressed by your song memorization skillz? :D
